Interrupted Sleep
New routines, nighttime settling, and worry can disrupt personal rest.
ZenoWell Community Initiative
Pet Adoption & Luna Donation
Supporting new adopters as they build calmer homes and stronger connections with rescued pets.
Through PALD, selected adopters may receive a donated ZenoWell Luna device to support their own sleep, stress-management, and daily well-being during the transition home.
A calmer caregiver can help create a calmer home.
Adoption does not end when an animal leaves a shelter. The first days, weeks, and months at home can be a major transition for both the rescued animal and the person caring for it.
Newly adopted pets may need time to adjust to unfamiliar people, routines, sounds, and spaces. Animals that have experienced abandonment, neglect, instability, or multiple foster placements may require additional patience and consistency before they begin to feel secure.
At the same time, new adopters may be managing disrupted rest, emotional strain, shifting routines, and the pressure of helping an unsettled animal adapt. PALD was created to support this often-overlooked human side of adoption.
New routines, nighttime settling, and worry can disrupt personal rest.
Adopters may feel pressure while helping a rescued animal feel safe.
Feeding, walks, appointments, and bonding time can reshape daily rhythms.
Ongoing care demands can make patience and steadiness harder to maintain.
PALD helps selected adopters create more space for rest, steadiness, and connection during the transition home.
Support healthier personal sleep and recovery routines.
Help adopters make time for daily regulation and emotional balance.
Support greater patience, consistency, and steadiness at home.

Step 2
Partner organizations identify adopters who may benefit from additional support.
Step 3
Selected adopters receive a donated Luna device for their own personal wellness routine.
Step 4
The adopter uses Luna while adjusting to life with their newly adopted pet.
PALD began at around five in the morning, in a group chat, with a conversation about two cats.
ZenoWell cofounder Jane had just spent a difficult night dealing with jet lag. Alongside her usual sleep routine, one of the things that helped her finally relax was her cat Huahua resting against her chest and purring.
She mentioned it to Samantha Sauer, President of G-PACT, one of ZenoWell's community partners. Samantha replied that her cat Mayzie often did something similar when she was feeling stressed.
Maybe every ZenoWell device should come with a kitten.
What if we partnered with adoption centers instead?
New adopters often devote their attention to helping an animal feel safe and settle into a new environment. Yet the adopters themselves may also be navigating poor sleep, emotional strain, uncertainty, and caregiver fatigue.
That early-morning conversation became the starting point for PALD: Pet Adoption & Luna Donation.
Supporting adoption also means supporting the person who is creating the animal's new home.
ZenoWell Luna is designed for human use only and should never be placed on or used with an animal.
